Nepal Telecom brings festival offer

As usual following the past years, Nepal Telecom (NT) has announced attractive offer for its users targeting the Nepalese greatest festivals Dashain, Tihar and Chhat. Nepal Telecom is the top company in Nepal for providing the communication service via phone and internet. According to NT, it will provide 100 MB data at Rs 50 and 250 MB at Rs 100 between October 1 to 15 and October 28 to November 6. The 100 MB data offer is valid for 5 days, while the 250 MB pack can be used for 10 days. Under these offers, the users can use 10 minutes of voice call and 10 SMS and 25 minutes of voice call and 25 SMS, respectively. Nepal Telecom Logo In addition, NT is offering 500 MB and 1,200 MB night surfing at Rs 40 and Rs 85, respectively. The data packs are valid for 7 and 15 days, respectively. Similarly, NT is offering 10 percent discount on calls made to its network by its GSM and CDMA users.

Kaspersky New Version Launched

A new version of Karspersky - The Internet Securiry product was launched in Nepali Market. Sagar Technolink is the authorized distributor of Kaspersky in Nepal. The product was launched in a program called Kaspersky 2017 in Kathmandu on Monday. Kaspersky is the most sellable antivirus product in Nepal and the company says, "these anti-viruses will protect Android, Mac and Windows users against malware, dangerous online sites, online tracking and money theft". Speaking at the launching ceremony, Altaf Halde, managing director of South Asia Kaspersky Lab, said the new product is more powerful and that it has been enhanced further to ensure users privacy and security. The new product can be purchased from the company's retail store and through online portals baleyo.com, esewa.com.np, muncha.com, sastodeal.com and kaymu.com.np. Price of the new anti-virus starts from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5000.

4G service likely by September

Nepali telecom operators might be able to introduce 4G service by September . Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) - the telecommunications sector regulator -- has made amendment to the existing Radio Frequency Policy, allowing telecom operators to launch 4G service. The draft of the policy, which is now at the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC), will be passed within next 10 days, according to MoIC Secretary Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya. If the amendment is passed within 10 days, telecom operators will be able to launch 4G service within September. Nepali telecom operators have been saying that they will be able to roll out 4G services within two months of receiving permit from the government. “We are desperate to introduce 4G service in Nepal and enhance users' Internet using experience. I believe that we will be able to begin this service within two months after getting government's permission,” Simon Perkins, managing director of Ncell, told Republic

4G Services in Nepal

Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has started preparations to start 4G service in Nepal. 4G services has been already launched officially in India and Nepal aslo moving towards the path of 4G technology. Simply 4G is an acronym for fourth generation of mobile communication technologies. Now in Nepal, 2G to 3G services are active in both GSM and CDMA mobiles but with the evolvement of 4G, user will experience the latest technology handy. Government is working out for the implementation of 4G services which would be soon brought into operation", said Sherdhan Rai, Minister for Information and Communications. "The existing 3G service would be expanded countrywide whereas the 4G service would be operated in major cities including in the Kathmandu", he added. As per experts the time is right for the adoption of the LTE in Nepal with the spectrum 700-900MHz range. Nepal can go 4G adoption, as this range of frequency is best for affordable smart phones and tablets.
